Grants for research and experimentation in artistic mediation in residence

The grants are aimed at creators in the relational or participatory field, opening up the possibility of developing research projects using the institutional channels that the centre itself has at its disposal.
The artistic residencies are understood as temporary stays of eleven months at Santa Mònica with a set of accompaniment and support services during the creative process to contribute to the professional development of the artists. The model involves an experience of working in the same space with the aim of fostering exchange between residents and enriching it with a collective dimension.
The aim of activating relational or participatory artistic research projects, aimed at the public, is to generate forms of social return to the public. These results will be disseminated through the various channels of Santa Mònica, specifically those related to the modality in which each specific project is inscribed.
The modalities of the 2022/2023 grants are:
a) Research in participatory mediation (4 grants).
These are grants for research into experimental forms of mediation and the activation of audiences, i.e. research into the creation of alternative forms of reception and participation in artistic and cultural events by audiences.
b) Research in spatial mediation (2 grants)
These are grants for research that rethinks content in terms of the design of exhibition spaces and ephemeral architectural devices, as well as constructions in public space. Projects may also investigate experimental arrangements of audiences.
c) Research in digital mediation (2 grants)
These are grants for research on experimental forms of content mediation through apps, platforms and other digital projects.
d) Research in communicational mediation (2 grants)
These are grants for research into experimental forms of mediation understood as communication and dissemination, both physical and digital.
e) Research in editorial mediation (2 grants)
These are grants for research into experimental forms of mediation through editorial design and production.
f) Research in educational mediation (2 grants)
These are grants for research experimenting with diverse educational and training activities, as well as around digital training actions.
g) Research in gastronomic mediation (4 grants)
These are grants for research that explore strategies of cultural mediation and socialisation through gastronomy as an artistic creation.
The amount of the grant is 9,200.00 euros for a duration of 11 months, from 1 September 2022 to 31 July 2023.
Individuals domiciled in Catalonia are eligible for these grants.
1. In order to obtain the status of beneficiary, applicants must meet the following requirements and conditions, in addition to those established in General Basis 3:
2. The grant cannot be awarded to anyone who has obtained another grant in this line twice consecutively or three grants in this line in the last five years.
3. The grants awarded in accordance with these rules are not compatible with other grants, subsidies, aid or any other income for the same project.
These grants must be processed online through the portal of the Generalitat de Catalunya .
The period for submitting applications is from 29 April to 30 May 2022, both included.
