A two-voice exploration of the idea of the manifesto in relation to truth and words, based on texts by Paula G. Vila and Germán Chocero. This stage proposal addresses (in a poetic way) the appearance, survival and reproduction of fallacies and social constructs in today's world in both the private and public spheres.
Conceived as a synthesis and poetic revision of the exhibition "The Assault of Illusion", curated by Enric Puig Punyet, the poets construct a discourse organised around the four parts of the exhibition, to reveal, question and recapitulate the illusions of the day.
The activity takes the name of the manifesto and places itself in its orbit, i.e. it relates to it from a productive equidistance. The texts will speak to us about truth and make it move with an agitating will. The proposal invites the spectator to shift their gaze and activate lateral thinking, opening up spaces of doubt and exploration beyond the established narratives. The poetic word thus becomes a tool for breaking inertia.
With the participation of Germán Chocero and Paula G. Vila
Germán Chocero is a poet, visual artist and teacher. At the age of fifteen, he took a workshop on oral poetry at secondary school, which directed his interests towards the link between poetry and performativity. He holds a degree in Art and Design and a master's degree in Comparative Studies in Literature, Arts and Thought, and is studying for a postgraduate degree in Live Arts and Context at the Institut del Teatre. His research understands metaphor as a pedagogical resource for broadening visions, with a queer and class approach that questions subjectivity and includes the body. He is currently working on mediation projects and in the artistic collective Grup d'Estudi.

Paula G. Vila is a PhD student of Sociology, researcher and lecturer at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). In stage poetry, she has found a way to turn research into social criticism. She grew up on the outskirts of Barcelona and lived twice in England to train. Since her return in 2024, she has carved out a niche for herself on the Barcelona poetry scene while writing a thesis on the uses of time and gender performativity. On stage, she speaks and defends the same things she researches – care, minorities and social justice – and has been a champion of the Poetry Slam Barcelona, placing third in the whole of Spain.
