As a prelude to the exhibition, we find ourselves before a projection that acts as a mirror. However, instead of the reflection itself, through a complex system of algorithms, our body and movement are reinterpreted and processed as some of the elements that will later be found in the imaginary that the exhibition proposes.

The piece by MANS O and Joan Sandoval functions as an oracle that announces the way in which we integrate all the illusory elements of culture in our subjective configuration, which will function as a leitmotif that will be repeated throughout the exhibition.

MANS O and Joan Sandoval

MANS O and Joan Sandoval live and work in Barcelona.

MANS O is a multidisciplinary artist focused on rhythmic experimentation through movement and sound. After graduating in Design, he got involved in the city's underground music scene, teaching speculative design and sound design at universities and intersecting creative fields through collaborations. Today, he continues to balance his different facets with the same creative collision in his shows and personal projects. He identifies himself as "musically restless", outside of genres, and uses intuition and improvisation as his main creative engines.

The Assault of Illusion

An exhibition about art, illusion, deception and power. Featuring around twenty local and international artists, it offers a critical journey through various artistic techniques that have shaped our desires and our sense of reality. In the era of deepfakes and artificial intelligence, can art help us unveil these mechanisms of manipulation?
