Transvestite assembly

Registration of the First Trans, Transvestite, Transgender, Transsexual, Non-Binary, Migrant, Disca Meeting, as part of the joint work between the La Coketa research project and the Les Mòniques Participation Guild in Barcelona in 2025.

A meeting to praise, stand up for and find ourselves by weaving alliances and political projections, celebrating and discussing the reality of transvestite bodies in the stronghold that is Europe. The transvestite genocide in times of fascism, dysphoria, roles, transformism, erasure and whitewashing.

The menu that fed and was shared among assembly participants consisted of a starter of yellow corn arepas, a main course of arroz graneado with coconut milk, and a feijoada of red beans, simmered with the vegetables and soy protein, with sides of fried ripe plantain, avocado, herbed soy cream and a cilantro dressing. Seasonal fresh fruit was served at the end.

It all came to a close in celebration and friction, as tends to happen to transvestites when they clash with the masses in public space.
