Lip sync has been, for decades, a fundamental practice in the world of drag, a space where the voice becomes malleable matter and identity is blurred and reconstructed. This dramatised reading, being a literary transformism, proposes a journey through different texts that have dealt with the relationship between lip sync and transvestite art, exploring the power of the word in the mouth of another body, the play with identity and the resignification of other people's voices.

On stage, three drag figures - Faraonix, Barjaula Travesti and Glaciar - will embody three different ways of inhabiting drag, taking lip sync beyond imitation to transform it into a tool for subversion and expression.

The performance will close with a round table discussion on the importance of lip sync and transvestite versions, its political and artistic charge, and the fundamental role it plays in the construction of dissident narratives.

A tribute to borrowed voices, reinvented words and the power of an art that is born in lip movements.

Idea and dramaturgy: Faraonix.
Participating Drags: Glaciar, Barjaula Travesti and Faraonix.

Faraonix is a drag performer who experiments with the fusion of genre and theatrical styles. His performances have toured all over Catalonia and Madrid, and he has participated in important drag events such as Churros or Ravalada XXL. He is also a stage researcher and playwright and is writing the first theatrical decalogue of drag dramaturgy, which he has entitled: ‘El Drag, el género teatral olvidado’ (Drag, the forgotten theatrical genre). He is also studying to develop an interpretative method of character creation through drag and drag performance, which he teaches at prestigious schools such as the Instituto del Teatro. At the same time, she also does activist work to make the art of drag king known in other cultural fields.

Barjaula Travesti is a drag king and queer activist who dismantles and flows between masculinities and femininities. She does this through her unique performances, self-expression workshops and educational talks. He does this through political denunciation, humour and drama. She uses the body as a poetic element, sings, dances and seeks to break with stigmas, stereotypes and codes. He also gives lectures and disseminates information about Drag King art and gender diversity.

Elias Miguez, known as Glaciar, is an artist with extensive experience in different proposals and scenarios. With a degree in Choreographic Composition from the National University of the Arts (Argentina), he has directed and starred in multiple productions both in Argentina and Europe. From his thin opera SEXE DE-VIL (2014-2016), presented in several cities and festivals, to his participation in international projects such as QUÓRUM by Rui Huerta and ONDINE with Monica Runde and Inés Narváez, Miguez has worked with renowned directors and choreographers. In recent years, she has explored the intersection between dance, performance and drag, consolidating her character GLACIAR on stages in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao.
