This artistic proposal explores the idea of bringing collage into the realm of performance and vocal expression.

Collage de veus is an artistic experiment that unites people of different generations, life experiences and social backgrounds within a shared performative space and time. Bodies, voices and movement intertwine and enter into dialogue, giving rise to a 44-minute piece that dispenses with narrative and invites us into a field of relational exchange.

What happens when all these voices come together? When seemingly unrelated vocal fragments are woven into a collective, abstract and chance-driven artistic game? Vocal textures, sounds, songs, memories, testimonies, thoughts and gestures converge and interact, creating a singular, strange and unrepeatable composition.

“Collage de veus is a symphonic fragment of human nature expressed through voice. An invitation to imagine, if only for a moment, that we are not so far apart. That our geographies are, in some way, simultaneous, and that humanity is a collective event unfolding all at once.”

Mar Nicolás is a performance maker, actress and applied theatre instructor. Trained in physical theatre and vocal technique, she has undertaken extensive research into the relationship between body and voice at the Roy Hart Centre.

Working across hybrid performance, vocal experimentation and video poetry, she was a member of the Insectotròpics Company for more than 14 years and has written and directed several stage works combining poetic, experimental and dreamlike elements.

Her creations include La encantadora història de Sant Rodolfo del Encanto, Anar és inevitable and Versió Original Subtitulada, as well as directing Fills de la Llum, by Josep Vila, and, more recently, Infinita Intolerància, by Clara Sunyer.
