This is Veus Lliures’ second contribution to Santa Mònica’s Thursdays of voice and word series, building on their exploration of the relationships between voice, language and meaning through the world of Dadaism and the artists who challenged the conventions of their time.

Inspired by the transgressive spirit of creators such as Emmy Hennings, Mina Loy and Hannah Höch, the members of Veus Lliures continue their research into the expressive possibilities of the voice beyond conventional language. This new instalment features Dadaist sound poetry performances, where sound, rhythm and vocal elements take centre stage in a shared poetic and sonic experience.

Veus Lliures
is a group of 13 improvising singers led by Celeste Alías. The all-woman ensemble harnesses the unamplified voice as an instrument of creation, exploring its limits, textures and resonances. Each performance is unique, born of listening, play and shared freedom. Their voices do not judge, but trust and care for one another, turning sound into a living space of connection and presence.
