Mastering the fall is part of the game

A performance that articulates some of the questions raised by the exhibition itself (CITISSIMUM ALTISSIMUM FORTISSIMUM). How far can the body go? How is sport instrumentalized? What kind of relationship is established with defeat? The performance artists become elite athletes, and the exhibition space transforms into the stadium that hosts them. The coach—here, the artist as curator—takes on the role of trainer and launches the challenge of breaking records proposed throughout the different sessions. The ten artists, dressed in sports gear, will generate different presences and poetics that move through repetition, exhaustion, defeat, and sportsmanship.

The Hospital of Artists is a research and working group focused on live arts. It is based at La Juan Gallery, an art gallery specialized in performance. Within the group, processes of research, production, discussion, and showcasing are developed around performance art.
