Echoes of the World: Poetic Jam

Week for Palestine
Activity
15 May from 18h to 20h | Poetry reading | Lecture room

Resisting through words: between joy and sorrow. Pain is sung to ease it. The voice becomes survival, words become will, and the melody echoes everywhere, crying out for Palestine’s freedom.

In this poetry jam, stories are transformed into rhythm, words, and shared emotion. Thus, art becomes a bridge: it turns pain into collective expression and keeps memory alive.

The event is part of the commemoration of May 15, Nakba Day (catastrophe), which marks the mass displacement of Palestinians in 1948 following the creation of the State of Israel. For Palestinians, it symbolizes the loss of land and identity: a wound that continues to resonate in voices and bodies.

Organized by the Assembly of Mòniques for Palestine—composed of the 25/26 resident artists—and as part of the Week for Palestine program, the event takes the form of a poetry recital bringing together poets writing in Catalan, Spanish, and Arabic. Some pieces will feature musical accompaniment, creating a space where words and sound engage in dialogue and mutually reinforce one another

Activity led by les Mòniques 25/26 within the framework of the Week for Palestine.

With the participation of Barby Boustier, David Coñomán Romero, Nadia Jabr Khaloof.
