Bodies that break, bodies that burst, bodies that become overdeveloped, hormonally altered, changed, modified. Bodies that fall and bodies that win, bodies that break records.

This activation will explore the relationship between the dissident body and sport.

Ars Movens is a transdisciplinary, self-managed collective operating cooperatively. It was founded in 2021 by a group of music students in Barcelona with the aim of diversifying “classical” music proposals, fostering dialogue between historical awareness and contemporary issues, and exploring the connections between music and other art forms.

From the very beginning, the project has combined democratic and autonomous work, coordinated by its organizing board, with the collaboration of experienced musicians and artists from various disciplines, such as Lorenzo Coppola, Susana Egea, Maria Borràs, Alejandro Garrido, Elena Rey, and Fàtima Campos. This approach has placed collective creation methodologies at the core of its activities, which are divided into: large-scale projects (orchestral), small-scale projects (chamber music), and educational activities (workshops, talks, panel discussions, etc.).

Currently, Ars Movens is the resident ensemble at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) and the Santa Mònica Centre for Contemporary Arts, where it hosts a regular space for experimentation.

CITISSIMUM ALTISSIMUM FORTISSIMUM

CITISSIMUM ALTISSIMUM FORTISSIMUM is an exhibition about a contemporary phenomenon that, despite radically affecting our lives, remains underrepresented in the art world: sport as a symptom of contemporary society.
