The Mónicas, gathered in assembly for Palestine, are aware that supporting and understanding the resistance and existence of the Palestinian people is essential for all antifascist struggles. Given what is happening in Iran, Venezuela, and Palestine, we call on people connected to different struggles in these territories to come together and think collectively about the fascist machinery that operates in all of them in similar or divergent ways. The intention is to envision possible joint counter‑defensive strategies and to share living practices of resistance in these body‑territories.

In this roundtable we are joined by Pantea Armanfar, Orne Cabrita, and Nour Torello. From the Mónicas team, Nadia Jabr Khaloof, David and Coñomán Romero, and Musa Céspedes participate. The roundtable is moderated by Barby Boustier and Xeito Fole.

Pantea is an Iranian sound and multidisciplinary artist who works with narratives of ecological and more‑than‑human connection. She is passionate about the environment, plants, and wetlands. Socially committed, her practice develops from the commons and collective space, researching with others and through thinking‑by‑doing the possibilities offered by sound and listening. She participates in collective projects such as Khamoosh —dedicated to preserving and archiving Iranian sonic heritage—, Associació So —focused on live transmission and listening—, and the Radio Web MACBA working group. Her work has been presented and exhibited internationally.

Orne Cabrita is a juggler of words, a speculator of gentler futures. His texts have been published in El Salto Diario, ViceVersa, and Panfleto Negro. He is the author of the book Trampa de Luces, published by the Centre d’Art La Capella. His essay De la sal en la lengua was selected for the OCEAN / UNI: bárawa program of TBA21–Academy (Thyssen-Bornemisza). He has taken part in conversations, workshops, and performances with Virginie Despentes (Despentes Convergence, 2017), Archivo Hamaca (Santa Mònica, 2023), Rasssin (Hangar, 2025), and DU.DA (This Too Shall Pass, sessions on finitude, La Escocesa, 2025).

Nour Torello is the daughter of a Palestinian mother originally from Haifa. In Palestine, she works as a communications and advocacy officer in several organizations. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Movements, International Conflicts, and Peacebuilding Journalism (UAB). She has specialized in Middle Eastern feminisms at SOAS. Her work analyses the instrumentalization of LGTB rights, homonationalism, and pinkwashing in non‑Eurocentric contexts. She is also interested in how to decolonize solidarity with Palestine from grassroots movements and emancipatory feminist movements.
