An impro-vision duet shaped by the sound of the tabla and the embodied practice of kalaripayattu. These two disciplines from India converge thanks to Jordi Rallo and Esther Freixa, who open themselves to new movements, new sounds and new impro-visions.

Activity curated by CRA’P, pràctiques de creació i recerca artística

With the participation of Jordi Rallo and Esther Freixa

Jordi Rallo

Jordi Rallo studied tabla with master Uttam-das in Rishikesh, India, and darbuka at the Conservatoire de Musique Traditionnelle in Tunis. With a scholarship, he continued his training at the Kalakshetra School of Fine Arts in Madras, India. Over the last forty years he has introduced these instruments into different genres. His collaborations with musicians, poets, actors and dancers have led him to expand and develop a personal percussion set that includes tabla, khanjira, udus, cajón, gongs, samplers and more.
