Codi Font Audiovisual,1 a fragmented screening with commentary on Indigenous cinema by Maria Ignacia Ibarra.

Part screening, part lecture, the session creates a narrative thread through the organisation of audiovisual material. Together, we will explore the different forms of Indigenous cinema, their ability to shape worldviews and narratives, and the ways in which conventional film has taken an extractive approach to its relationship with Indigenous peoples.

1) Codi Font Audiovisual, or “Audiovisual Source Code”, is a session format devised by the Zemos98 collective. It is neither a screening nor a lecture, but a hybrid format that offers an engaging way of conveying a work’s cultural significance. It borrows the Catalan term codi font, or “source code”, from the world of open source programming.

Activity curated by Festival Panòptic
