Two women artists confront a contemporary world full of tensions. Their goal is to seek resilience through art, through the gaze of two cultures, two ways of expressing themselves and two different generations, mutually enriching each other.

Piano and synthesizer; dance and Butoh.

Activity curated by Taller de Músics

With the participation of Marlène Jöbstl i Skye

Marlène Jöbstl (butoca)

Marlène Jöbstl is a polyglot of dual culture (France and Austria), born in 1975, who lives in Barcelona. She represents an unconventional art, where beauty and poetry triumph, where dance is a vehicle for complex depths. Marlène plays with paradox, humour and provocation, questioning the established with poetic and political backgrounds and frameworks. She specialises in stage direction and choreography, creation and performance, pedagogical and artistic research, as well as site-specific performance.

Skye

Born in Barcelona, Skye is a composer and sound artist with a background in classical piano and music production and studies in composition from the Taller de Músics Escola Superior d’Estudis Musicals. Her work moves between the acoustic and the electronic and explores the dialogue between piano and synthesizer with a minimalist, contemporary and emotional approach. She has composed music for the theatre – such as the play Perfectament imperfectes by Plàudite Teatre – and has collaborated with the painter Joan Pere Milan. Her sound language draws on introspection, social critique and the exploration of loneliness in the digital age.
