Embodied Physis: Improvisation for Accordion, AI and Wearable Ins

Embodied Physis is a live performance in which accordion, artificial intelligence, movement and wearable technologies converge in a unique, unrepeatable sonic experience. Through audiovisual improvisation, Edurne Arizu and Diana Alina Serbanescu (Neranti) weave a dialogue between body, instrument and technology, where gestures, proximity and movement become music in real time.

Using textile sensors, interactive electronics and artificial intelligence systems, the performance opens up new ways of listening and creating together. The result is a living, ever-shifting soundscape that invites audiences to experience the relationships that emerge between people, machines and their environment, in a space where music arises from movement, presence and interaction.

Edurne Arizu is a composer, accordionist and performance maker specialising in contemporary music, improvisation and sonic experimentation. Her artistic practice explores the relationship between sound, technology, the body and artificial intelligence. She is currently developing Physis (2024–2026), an artistic research project for accordion, electronics and AI centred on improvisation, expanded listening and sound ecologies.

Diana Alina Serbanescu (Neranti) is an artist, researcher and performer specialising in choreography, experimental sound, wearable technologies and artificial intelligence. Through performances, workshops and artistic research, she develops body-based instruments that transform movement into sound and collective experiences. Her work explores new relationships between the body, technology and the environment. She is a co-founder of REPLICA and a senior researcher on the Performing AI programme at Zurich University of the Arts.
