Frame of Watch My Shrink (Florencia Aliberti)

Watch My Shrink (2014) retrieves home videos from YouTube to discuss experiences of displaying intimacy and the body on the web. A trend through which we show our lives, crossing the boundary between public and private, inside and outside, in a new space where our experiences come into existence.

The video is accompanied by a conversation between blanca arias and Lucrecia Masson Córdoba, who find themselves, among many other places, in the desire to model other contours for the feminine body. Drawing on their research on the soft and the ruminant, respectively, the two artists will open up a space in which to imagine – slowly – what the transfer of the brain's reflexive capacity to the stomach can offer. How to produce truth from the gut? What diagnoses are repeated? How to shape an epistemology of the fold?

Florencia Aliberti works mainly in the field of documentary and experimental film/video. Her proposals are situated between the projection and exhibition format, and move between the cinema and exhibition spaces. Part of her work explores forms of appropriation in the audiovisual, from analogue to digital, to create new narratives for existing images. Her appropriation works have focused on new forms of self-representation and exhibition of the private on the internet.
