With two intersex uniforms designed for the opening of a fictional Olympic Games, Roberte Piqueras questions the rigidity of the classification policies that determine who can compete as a woman in elite sports. Transgender and intersex individuals challenge hormonal regulations and sex verification tests that have, in many cases, involved public scrutiny, invasive medical practices and other violations of athletes' rights.
Actuavallès is a non-profit association founded in 1993 in Sabadell to respond to the HIV epidemic. Initially formed by volunteers, it now also includes a professional team that coordinates its projects. Over more than thirty years, the organization has expanded its work to address various social and health issues, focusing on three main areas: HIV and STI prevention, psychosocial support for people living with the virus, and social action to fight exclusion and poverty.
Among its key projects are Ca l’Enredus, a community space for health promotion and LGBTI+ diversity; Translaboral, a labor support program for trans people; and Transfamilias, which provides support for families of trans individuals. In addition, Actuavallès carries out awareness-raising initiatives to promote equality and combat stigma. With over three decades of experience, the organization remains committed to social transformation and defending the rights of people in vulnerable situations.
