FRAU recerques visuals uses a dubious and controversial goal during a match between Barça and Real Madrid to demonstrate how a sporting moment is magnified by the media to create a multifaceted and kaleidoscopic reality shaped by images, narratives and conflicting interests. The same event can be perceived differently depending on the viewer’s predisposition. Similarly, all reality is constructed through media using the images captured by the technology around us, yet this process can never escape interpretation.

FRAU recerques visuals is a contemporary visual creation studio founded by interdisciplinary artists Helena Pielias and Vicenç Viaplana Ventura. They develop their own projects and collaborate with other artists, while also working on commissions from artists, companies, and cultural institutions. In addition, they lead workshops, provide artistic consulting, and engage in art mediation. Their creative process involves research in fields such as history, philosophy, literature, fine arts, and contemporary art, and they often draw on diverse visual languages including digital art, video art, performing arts, performance, graphic design, and exhibition installation.
