A flag represents a nation, a country, a team or a club. However, when clubs transform into corporations, they sacrifice the communicative and communal function once associated with these symbols. How can we identify a team that now wears five differently coloured kits? Realmente Bravo explores what a flag might look like if its colours held no meaning, its components were arbitrarily mixed, or its symbols became unrecognisable and indecipherable.

Realmente Bravo

Realmente Bravo is a creative duo formed by Paula Vila (1991) and Víctor Clemente (1991) in Elche in 2014, emerging spontaneously with a multidisciplinary approach and a Do It Yourself ethos. The two artists began by balancing their creative work with university studies in Audiovisual Communication and Fine Arts, focusing their early projects on photography, graphic design, art direction, and the self-publishing of zines and merchandise. With a self-taught perspective, their aim is to challenge orthodox design by exploring concepts such as decontextualization and irony.

From 2016 onward, they started collaborating with music industry artists, creating artworks for names like C. Tangana, Carolina Durante, and Aitana, and also ventured into poster and credit title design for films such as Espíritu Sagrado and Que Nadie Duerma. In recent years, they have given talks and workshops at universities and festivals such as Experience Valencia, part of World Design Capital, and at the Club de Creativos in Donosti. They have also designed the visual identity for major cultural festivals, including the Grec Festival of Barcelona (2022 and 2023) and the Máquina de Arte y Pensamiento Festival (2023) at CC Las Cigarreras in Alicante. Their career has been marked by the creation of a unique visual universe and an ongoing dialogue with various cultural spheres.
