Dimecres de so i cos

Sandra Artigas & Bruma

Veus de l’aire is a project by musicians Sandra Artigas and Bruma, developed for the Dimecres de So i Cos series at the Centre d’Art Santa Mònica, in collaboration with the Taller de Músics.

Drawing on collective musical memory, the musicians have selected a series of folk songs from the Catalan cultural landscape and other regions of the Peninsula, reimagining their form and message to breathe new sonic life into them.

Electronics, soundscapes, and vocal experimentation are the tools Sandra and Bruma use to arrange these songs. Far from being a mere repertoire or an exercise in formal preservation, the songs serve here as sonic material that can be transformed, distorted, and reshaped.

Veus de l’aire gathers and reinterprets melodies that have passed from body to body and from voice to voice: living materials suspended in the air, waiting to be revealed once more. Sandra and Bruma bring these voices down from the air to the earth, highlighting the beauty and simplicity that made them part of our collective memory, and giving them a form that resonates with the present moment.
